Jesus said, “The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve.” The Ministry Leadership major reflects this servant-hearted model of ministry by combining biblical foundations with practical training for service in the Body of Christ.

The Evangelism Concentration is designed for students who desire to share the gospel effectively and lead others to Christ. Students learn how to communicate the Christian message clearly, build meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life, and minister to those who are searching for hope and truth.

This program equips students for evangelistic ministry in churches, outreach ministries, missions, and personal witnessing.

Students may also take any of the courses listed below individually without enrolling in a full degree program.

Courses in the Evangelism Concentration

1) APTH 4675 – Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God

This course explores God’s call to live in spirit and in truth. Students examine the illumination of Scripture and the role of revelation knowledge in renewing the mind and living a Spirit-filled life.


2) BIBL 4481 – Survey of the Book of Acts

This course traces the spread of the gospel through the ministry of the early church as recorded in the Book of Acts. Students examine the work of the Holy Spirit and the challenges faced by the first evangelists.


3) COMM 3785 – Christian Apologetics: Understanding Why You Believe

An introduction to apologetics and the defense of the Christian faith. Students learn how to respond to common questions about Christianity and communicate the Christian worldview clearly and confidently.


4) MINN 4455 – Homiletics 101: Sermon Preparation

Students learn the fundamentals of preparing and delivering biblically sound and engaging sermons. The course focuses on sermon structure, communication skills, and effective preaching methods.


5) EVAN 3500 – Preaching the Word of God

This course explores the principles and practices of effective preaching, emphasizing communication skills, Spirit-led delivery, and connecting with listeners.


6) COMM 3780 – Communicating Christian Faith: Soulwinning

Students learn practical methods for sharing the gospel, responding to common objections, and leading individuals to faith in Christ.


7) EVAN 4900 – Studies in Radical Evangelism

Through historical case studies, students examine the lives and ministries of influential evangelists such as John Wesley, William Booth, and other leaders who impacted the world through evangelism.


8) HIST 3255 – Comparative World Religions

This course explores the beliefs and practices of the world’s major religions and examines how understanding these perspectives can help Christians share the gospel more effectively.


9) EVAN 3650 – Evangelism Methods

Students explore the biblical foundations and practical strategies of evangelism, including personal witnessing, outreach ministries, and evangelistic communication.


10) MINN 4355 – The Touch of Christ: Ministering to the Broken

This course explores the biblical foundations of ministering to those who are hurting and provides practical tools for offering prayer, compassion, and spiritual guidance.


11) PHIL 3211 – Philosophy of Evangelism

Students examine the philosophical foundations of evangelism and explore the role of evangelism throughout church history and in contemporary culture.
